I love the words of this scripture. It shows us how intimately we are to be connected to our God.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframe of your houses and on your gates," (Deuteronomy 6:5-9 NIV).
I think the first verse is one of the first verses I memorized as a youth. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." What does that mean for each of us? To love God with all my heart and soul and strength is to love God with all my being! To be wholly devoted to God, to be dedicated to God without exception, and to love exceedingly, totally, all in, and completely.
Love God with everything we have, who we are, and who we should be. Loving God is a life style. Something that consumes you and exudes in every action, every thought and every word.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." Amen.
