"May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
and until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hand."
Traditional Gaelic Irish Blessing
I'm not Irish but we do have red hair in our family so I'll wish you an Irish Blessing.
It may have gotten its start from the blessing the Lord told Moses for the Israelites.
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace," (Numbers 6:24-26 NIV).
Each blessing asked God's divine favor upon others. The NIV Bible says each blessing contained five parts that you ask God to do for the other person: 1. protect and favor; 2. to be pleased; 3. merciful and compassionate; 4. give approval; 5. give peace. When you ask a blessing upon another person you are asking God to do these five things. It also shows your love toward them and gives them encouragement.
Have a blessed day.
