"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience," (Colossians 3:12 NIV).
In February, our church held a day of preparing Meals from the Heartland and John and I participated. We (the church) filled 40,000 bags with nutrient high meals that will help feed the hungry. It was easy work. Each shift took one hour. I felt good about the process and felt good about my little part of helping others.
It was an act of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Few actions in life make you feel so good. But look at that scripture again and see what it says about us. We are chosen. We are holy. We are dearly loved. What a blessing Paul gives us.
Because we are chosen, holy and dearly loved, we can clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. We need to remember what Paul tells us every day and put on the clothes of God's chosen people.
May your day be blessed with ways to exhibit the actions of a dearly loved individual.
