The Arrival of Spring

It is officially spring according to the calendar! Hopefully the weather will soon follow. It appears that winter wants to hang on a bit longer. Scattering a few snow flakes along with the rain and smoothing frost over the ground in the early morning.

"As the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it," (Isaiah 55:9-11 NIV).

We experienced a taste of spring in Williamsburg, VA last week while visiting our grandchildren. The grass is green there and the tulips, bluebells and daffodils are in bloom. It was still quite cool (in the 40s). There were buds on the trees and several blooming trees were displaying their beautiful flowers.

God is preparing our grounds and plants for spring. Though we may experience a little more winter, spring is coming!

God, we thank you for the changing seasons and the arrival of spring. Help us have patience for the warm days we know are coming. We thank you for all the beauty that is to come. Amen.
